The forest fire in Ca Mau has basically been controlled

The forest fire that occurred at Farm 402 located in Coi 6B hamlet, Khanh Binh Tay commune, Tran Van Thoi district, Ca Mau province has been controlled to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring areas.

On April 11, information from the Office of the People’s Committee of Ca Mau province said that the forest fire that occurred at Farm 402 (Coi 6B hamlet, Khanh Binh Tay commune, Tran Van Thoi district) was basically controlled.

The fire caused damage to an area of ​​about 40 hectares (field measurements have not yet been conducted). The burned forest includes: regenerated melaleuca forest, perennial melaleuca trees and vegetation (reeds, bamboo, etc.), which are not part of the planned forestry land area in the province.

This farm belongs to the land area owned by the National Defense Land Management Team, Logistics Department of Military Region 9.

After the fire broke out, Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People’s Committee Huynh Quoc Viet (Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue) was present at the scene and directly directed the Border Guard Command. Department, Police, Military and related forces, with nearly 600 people directly participating in firefighting.

Khanh Binh Tay Commune People’s Committee has mobilized households at risk of being affected by forest fires to a safe place. In Khanh Binh commune in the Northwest, there are 3 households at risk of being affected by the fire and have relocated.

Previously, the fire broke out at 12:00 a.m. on April 10 in the cajuput forest area of ​​Farm 402. Due to intense hot weather conditions, the peak of the dry season, many canals ran out of water, and strong winds forced the rescue work to continue. Fire is very difficult.
