His departure was caused by the overall exhaustion of the organism due to the progression of an insidious malignant disease of the pancreas. The doctors informed him of the diagnosis 14 days before that fateful day.” wrote his devastated wife Miluša a few days after his death.

Miluše and her family are constantly receiving condolences, and one such one came from the opposite side of the globe. “Thank you for the condolences from as far away as South Korea, where Vasho was recognized for his musical works. Sincerely, Miluše Patejdlová,” the widow wrote on her husband’s Instagram profile.
“I’m Kim Sunmi, I’m the producer of the Korean version of the musical ‘Jack the Ripper’. I’m very saddened by the news about your Patejdl, and I’m very sorry for his passing. I still remember him when he came to Korea to present the musical Jack the Ripper in 2009 .I am very sorry that I can no longer fulfill my promise that we will meet again one day and have a drink together. It is because of his beautiful story of the musical, that is why I decided that I must do the Jack the Ripper musical in Korea as well. His beautiful music was loved by audiences in the Czech Republic, Korea, Japan and other Asian countries, from the Czech Republic to Korea and Japan, and it will resonate with us forever.Although I cannot attend the funeral, I believe I will visit the Czech Republic one day and have a drink in his honor ” wrote Kim in his condolences.
The final farewell will take place on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 2 p.m. in the Assumption Basilica in Strahov, Prague.
