The Pattaya murder case involves a former gangster who ran an illegal sports gambling site in Pattaya, Thailand, on November 20, 2015, who repeatedly attacked and killed young programmer Lim Dong-jun (aged 24 at the time of his death) for being late in completing his work.

Since September 2015, Kim Hyeong-jin (40), a member of the international mafia, has been responsible for developing the system of an illegal sports Toto gambling site called ‘Healing Camp’ with other programmers in a rented officetel in Bangkok , Thailand.

However, Kim Hyung-jin and other members of the organization repeatedly attacked Lim and another developer for the delay in development. They also threatened, “If you run away, we will bribe the Thai police and prevent you from leaving the country.” Other gang members managed to escape to the Korean Embassy in Thailand, but Mr Lim, who could not escape, was moved to another residence, imprisoned, and attacked.
