The student made the teacher’s WhatsApp on his own phone during the online class

Kozhikode: A student transferred the teacher’s WhatsApp account to his own phone during an online class. The teacher withdrew the complaint after the police found out that the student was the culprit. The incident happened during an online class for high school students.

The class was conducted in such a way that the students could see the screen of the teacher’s mobile phone using the screen sharing app. Message notifications coming to the teacher’s phone were visible at the top of the screen. During class, a student opened a WhatsApp account on his own phone using the teacher’s mobile number.

The OTP to verify the mobile number immediately came to the teacher’s phone. This was clearly seen at the top of the screen by the students in the online class. WhatsApp started with this OTP. The teacher did not have a two-step verification on the phone and did not have a password. The teacher found out that WhatsApp was not working on her phone when she opened WhatsApp after class. The teacher, a native of the medical college, immediately lodged a complaint with the cyber police.

The man was identified when he checked the mobile phones of students attending the class. The teacher withdrew the complaint after realizing that the accused was a student. Police say this would not have happened if the teacher had used a six-digit password on WhatsApp.
