“O God, have mercy on me with the Qur’an and make it for me a guide, a light, a guidance, and a mercy. O God, remind me of it what I have forgotten, and teach me of it what I am ignorant of, and grant me its recitation during the hours of the night and the ends of the day, and make it an argument for me, O Lord of the Worlds.”

“O God, fix for me my religion, which is the protection of my affairs, and fix for me my world, which contains my livelihood, and fix my hereafter, which contains my hostility, and make life an increase for me in all good, and make death a relief for me from all evil. Oh God, I ask you for a blissful life, a happy death, and a return that is neither shameful nor scandalous.

“O God, I ask of You the best of asking, the best of supplication, the best of success, the best of knowledge, the best of work, the best of reward, the best of life, and the best of death, and make me steadfast and heavy on my scales, and fulfill my faith, and raise my rank, and accept my prayers, and forgive my sins, and I ask of You the highest of Paradise. Righteousness, winning Paradise, and being saved from Hell. Oh God, grant us the best punishment in all matters, and protect us from the shame of this world and the torment of the Hereafter.

A supplication for the one who completed the written Qur’an?
“O God, swear to us that from your fear you will prevent us from disobeying you, and from your obedience that which will bring us to your Paradise, and from certainty that will make the calamities of this world easy for us, and grant us enjoyment with our hearing and sight and strength as long as you keep us alive, and make him the heir from us, and make our vengeance against those who wronged us, and give us victory over those who are hostile to us, and do not make our calamity in our religion, nor Make the world our greatest concern, nor the extent of our knowledge, and do not impose upon us those who do not have mercy on us. Oh God, do not leave for us a sin except that You forgive it, nor a concern except that you relieve it, nor a religion that does not fulfill it, and no need of the needs of this world and the hereafter except that you fulfill it, O Most Merciful of the Merciful. Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and protect us. The torment of Hell, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master and Prophet Muhammad and his family and good companions.
