The Araucanía Region and southern Chile have suffered with a new frontal system that was firmly established in the area. One of its consequences was the landslide that completely destroyed a house in the Chocol sector of Curarrehue and caused the death of an entire family after 1:30 a.m. this Monday.
After reactivating the search for their bodies around seven in the morning, the authorities confirmed the discovery of the couple’s lifeless life, however, The work of the emergency teams intensified when they could not find their daughter.
“After a few minutes of work we had results. The couple who unfortunately lost their lives in this natural disaster has been found,” the presidential delegate, José Montalva, confirmed early on.
With that first information, it was necessary to find the 17 year old teenager who was in the house with his parents at the time of the tragedy that occurred due to landslides in a border area about eight kilometers from Argentina.
They confirm the discovery of the daughter
“Unfortunately, after thirteen hours, it can be noted that the body of the third unfortunately deceased was found,” confirmed the zone chief general of Carabineros de la Araucanía, Manuel Cifuentes.
“They were located in the vicinity of the home where they lived, in a collaborative effort between firefighters, the community and Carabineros, with all their specialized means,” added the police officer.
