This is what is known about the attackers on the SPD man

The perpetrators in Dresden presumably had connections to the right-wing extremist scene. Her group was probably investigated beforehand.

There is increasing evidence that the perpetrators who beat the SPD politician Matthias Ecke in Dresden to the point of hospitalization at the weekend could be assigned to the right-wing extremist spectrum. As “Welt” and “Bild” reported, citing investigative circles, at least one of the four suspects, Quentin J., was a member of the right-wing extremist group “Elblandrevolte”.

According to the “Culture Office of Saxony”, the group, which was only founded at the beginning of the year, maintains close ties to the Young Nationalists (JN) of the NPD’s youth organization (today “Die Heimat”). According to information from Bild, both the mother party and its youth organizations are being monitored by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

Even before the attack, investigations were carried out against the group

But the “Elbeland Revolt” is also being investigated. As “Bild” further reports, several members are suspected of having rioted on a regional train in Saxony. The federal police are investigating “breach of the peace, damaging property and coercion.”

A left-wing research network published pictures showing Quentin J. at events of the “Elblandrevolte” and the AfD. In addition, the research network suggests that both Quentin J. and another suspect, Luca S., were involved in the incident on the regional train.

Suspects at large

As “Welt” reports, the evaluation of the TikTok channel of another suspect, Leander H., would have revealed connections to the right-wing extremist scene. Right-wing extremist information material and books were also found on one or more suspects. Two of the four suspects are already known to the police due to drug offenses and physical injuries.

The suspects, who are said to be between the ages of 17 and 18, had to hand over their cell phones to the officers, but were released after being questioned. The public prosecutor’s office does not currently see any risk of absconding or recidivism, according to “Bild”.
