Thrissur witnesses a momentous occasion as the newly constructed flyover, a pioneering undertaking of the central government’s Amrit project, is now officially handed over to the nation. Revered Minister K Radhakrishnan graced the inauguration of the circular skyway, constructed with invaluable central assistance. This architectural masterpiece stands tall in the bustling vicinity of Shaktan Nagar, successfully connecting four major roads at this juncture.
The access to this innovative flyover can be availed through stairways situated in four key locations: Sakthan bus stand area, fish market, vegetable market, and Sakthan Nagar Maidan. Recognizing the need for inclusivity, two lifts have also been provisioned, thus ensuring an uninterrupted commuting experience for the physically challenged.
Shaktan Nagar now proudly boasts the largest flyover in all of Kerala. This pivotal project aims to alleviate the persistent congestion issues faced by the city and curtail the pedestrian traffic that plagues the streets of Shaktan. In the pipeline for the second phase of this visionary endeavor are the installation of two additional lifts, a solar system, a full glass cladding cover, and air conditioning facilities.

The flyover can be accessed via stairs from four parts of Sakthan bus stand area, fish market, vegetable market and Sakthan Nagar Maidan. Two lifts are also provided to assist the physically challenged.
Shaktan Nagar has the largest flyover in Kerala. With the implementation of the project, it is expected that the congestion in the city will be greatly relieved and the pedestrian traffic on the streets of Shaktan will stop. As the second phase of the project, two lifts, a solar system, a full glass cladding cover, AC will also be produced.
