What‍ Happened: Cocaine Smuggling Operation Uncovered

Police investigations have revealed that Tigran Denre Sonda‍ sourced cocaine from Malaysia with the intent to distribute it at the Djakarta⁣ Warehouse Project (DWP) music festival in Bali. Sonda personally traveled to Malaysia to procure the ⁣drugs and complete⁤ transactions.

Brigadier‌ General Eko Hadi santoso,Director of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, stated that Sonda initially purchased cocaine from a Malaysian citizen named Mujahid. Mujahid later connected‌ Sonda with an individual identified only as “J” to facilitate further illicit ‍transactions.

“Tigran Denre Sonda and J engaged⁣ in the buying and selling of⁤ cocaine‍ for‌ approximately ‍one year. ⁣However,‌ after losing contact with J around 2024, Sonda resumed⁤ interaction with Mujahid,” General Eko explained‍ on December⁤ 25, 2025.

The players Involved: A Network of ‍Brokers

the examination indicates a network built ⁣on pre-existing relationships. Sonda ⁤and Mujahid‍ reportedly knew each other as ⁤2023, both working as brokers. Mujahid is suspected of being a supplier ‍of various narcotics, including MDMA and Ketamine, in addition to‌ cocaine.

The‍ key⁢ individuals identified so far are:

  • Tigran Denre‌ Sonda: The ‌primary suspect, responsible for procuring and transporting the cocaine.
  • Mujahid: A Malaysian citizen suspected of being a major narcotics supplier.
  • J: An individual who previously facilitated cocaine transactions⁣ with Sonda, but is currently untraceable.

How the Smuggling Worked: Concealment and Cash Transactions

Sonda and Mujahid communicated to arrange the purchase and sale of cocaine specifically ‌for ⁤distribution at DWP Bali. Payments were made⁤ in cash during meetings in Malaysia. To evade detection,⁣ Sonda concealed the cocaine within a suitcase alongside clothing when traveling ‍through airport security.

This method highlights a refined attempt ‍to bypass customs controls, relying on concealment rather ⁣than elaborate ‍smuggling‍ techniques.
