Togo- Koffi Yamgnane: “Faure must leave! NOW ! »

The failure being prepared by Faure Gnassingbé and his clan still provokes reactions. In an appeal launched to the Togolese, the president of “Sursaut Togo”, Koffi Yamgnane asks all the active forces of the nation to stand up against the constitutional coup d’état.

CALL TO THE TOGOLESE PEOPLE

THE HOMELAND IN DANGER!

Togolese, my dear compatriots,

Here we are ! It is clear to everyone from now on, even if some still doubted it, that the dictator Faure dragged us, without even having informed us and without our opinion, into a monarchy, of which he proclaimed himself the king, which transforms the people as serfs, with duties, even as slaves, without any rights. All that remains is for him to promulgate this new “constitution” whenever he sees fit. Move along, nothing to see !

Fatal error ! By going through with all the manipulations to stay in power for life, he is doing us an invaluable service. He woke up the people who he thought were on the ground under the blows of the ferocious repression of his regime. But this is not the case and the Togolese people are standing up. The Togolese now know that whatever regime is installed, with democratic appearances, it has only one goal: to dress a ferocious dictatorship in the clothes of democracy in order to preserve the lifelong power of its monarch and only him.

I appeal to the Togolese people in all their components to rise up in a great national liberation movement. Throughout the national territory, that farmers, lawyers, civil servants, zémidjans, men, women, artisans, intellectuals, professors, sellers, students, political parties, civil society organizations , unions, industrialists, workers, young people, old people, churches, temples, mosques… stand up, under the sole banner of the Togolese people, and say NO!

Only the union of the people can enable this national liberation movement. Be together ! Be together ! The power is the people. United, we are more than eight million. Opposite, there are only a few thousand.

Can they imprison us all? Can they kill us all? If we are united, they won’t even be able to shoot once, because with the first shot, it’s the end of Faure Gnassingbé and they know it.

In this context, it is obvious that participation in the slightest consultation, in the slightest negotiation, in the slightest election, would be considered by the people as treachery. Treachery consummated by traitors who legitimize the dictatorship.

Let’s learn from past experiences and not make the same mistakes again. No negotiation can free the people from a dictatorship. No election has ever allowed a change of power in a dictatorship. It’s simply factual. Human history has shown us this. All we have left is the balance of power, a peaceful force.

I appeal to our brothers in the diaspora, wherever they are, to demonstrate in front of the embassies of Togo, to support our brothers there, to demand the immediate and unconditional release of the thousands of political prisoners who are languishing in jails. of the tyranneau and to raise awareness throughout the world of the ordeal that the Togolese are experiencing. Togo needs the human, intellectual and financial resources of its diaspora. There are more than two million of us. A single euro per person is more than enough to support the struggle and lead to the liberation of our country. Here too, I say: let’s unite! Let’s get organized!

I appeal to our Kabyès brothers to mobilize, they who are the poorest of the poor in Togo, who do not even have clean water to drink, who do not have land to cultivate, who have no right to the slightest dispute, crushed, despised as they are by their leader who has sowed discord between them, within the army, even within his own family with his desire to take everything for granted. him alone, nothing for the others, including his brother Kpatcha, thrown in prison, including commanders Amah and Boko, senior officers of high technical and moral value… and many others, forced into exile…

Kabyès brothers, you suffer even more than all other populations. You are hungry while your own son Faure, his friends and his mistresses gorge themselves on the people’s billions. Don’t be afraid of change! No Togolese is motivated by a spirit of revenge towards you and you will benefit, like all Togolese, from the newfound freedom and development for all.

I appeal to our military brothers. I know your suffering: poorly fed, poorly dressed, poorly housed, poorly paid, poorly considered, mistreated by your most zealous and ethnicist leaders and even the hardliners. I know all the pressures they put on you to force you to remain silent. I also know that while many of you have weapons, few have free access to ammunition. You see better than anyone how the dictator treats you. For the most zealous who end up in the way, arrest and oblivion! Without mercy ! For others, who may want democracy, death by bullets or slitting of the throat. You have seen one of your most loved and respected leaders disappear! A bullet in the head in his office inside the military camp of which he was the undisputed commander! Even his body was confiscated by the dictatorship, preventing his family from giving him a burial and being able to mourn. Do you think you can take this for much longer? In any case, I implore you not to shoot your children, your brothers, your sisters, your mothers and your fathers. You too, do not be afraid of a radical change towards the installation of a true democracy and a republican army that you yourselves demand for more justice and better living conditions.

Finally, I appeal to our misguided brothers and sisters within Unite. For those who sincerely think about changing the system from within or who think that this party allows us to work for the well-being of populations, open your eyes! There is no political future for you as this party is blocked by the dictatorship and by its leader who, moreover, does not even respect you. The proof is that at the time of the secret vote in the deep night in the Assembly, on March 25, 2024, around fifty of your deputies were absent, disagreeing with this new crime. Well, the dictatorship made them vote through false proxies!

All of you too, “activists” at Unir, are being used like cattle. In addition, the dictatorship put its deputies forward in the face of the hungry and angry people. Can you accept this for much longer? Don’t be afraid of change either. Once freedom and democracy have returned, Togo will need all the skills of all its sincere children to ensure harmonious development in the service of the people.

As for you who still zealously defend this regime, for ethnic or financial reasons, know that you are fewer and fewer in number and that the dictator, at the time of his inevitable flight, will leave you alone to face the anger of the people and will not will request protection and exfiltration only for himself, all alone, as he already did in 2017!

I therefore reiterate my appeal to the Togolese people united, in a national liberation movement, for major demonstrations inside and outside, to trigger vast international pressure, with the sole slogan: immediate departure and unconditionally from the dictator so that a period of transition finally begins. We must be aware that power is weak and feverish. This explains these latest errors. Today he is stuck, with his back to the wall and all the way. This is proof of his weakness.

Togolese people, we are experiencing a historic moment, a turning point in political life. This is our last chance! Let’s grab it!

Let’s think, act and fight together. Our victory has never been closer.

We will vanquish !

Faure must leave! NOW !

As for me, after having given a lot to my adopted country, I now intend to devote myself entirely to my native country, Togo. I intend to give back to the land of my ancestors what it gave me. I plan to build even more bridges and roads there than I was able to do during my professional career in France.

From now on, I will devote myself to building bridges between people, in TOGO!
