A lot of snow fell in the Kanto region, including Tokyo, Japan, where it rarely snows, causing major traffic jams in various parts of the city.

It started snowing during the day and quickly covered different parts of the road at night.

With heavy snow falling in the Kanto region, heavy snow warnings were issued throughout Tokyo’s 23 wards at one point.

As the snowfall has intensified since the evening, it is now difficult to distinguish even between the pavement and the road.

There was up to 8cm of snow in Tokyo, and this is the first time in two years that more than 1cm of snow has accumulated in Tokyo.

Citizens are in a hurry to return home, but transportation is not easy to find.

Accidents happened one after the other, with a running vehicle skidding and hitting another vehicle.

There were many cases of pedestrians falling and being injured, and it was determined that at least 240 people were injured.

The day after the snow stopped, the train service continued to be disrupted, and there were long lines in front of the station with citizens on their way to work.

Expressways were blocked in many places, and flights to and from Haneda Airport were cancelled.

The Japan Meteorological Agency urged people to pay attention to ice on the roads as low temperatures will continue for now.
