Kia has introduced a range of new cars this year, with the partial changes to the Carnival taking center stage. Alongside the EV9 and Sorento, it is one of the most notable new Kia cars of the year.

The most noticeable change is in the headlamp design, with small projection LED lamps installed vertically. The interior is equipped with Hyundai Motor Group’s latest integrated display infotainment system, offering features such as wireless software updates. The new 1.6-liter turbo gasoline hybrid powertrain has a combined system output of 230 horsepower, and the official combined fuel efficiency is expected to be around 11.3 km/L.

The partially redesigned K5 model is once again attracting attention, as the front view of the new design has recently been revealed. It is expected to have a similar shape to the current K5, with only a different pattern. However, it is estimated that an additional line has been added towards the bumper to create an ‘S’ shape. A variety of lineups will be introduced, including 1.6-liter gasoline turbo, 2.0-liter gasoline, and hybrid options.

The partially changed G80 model, set for release in the fourth quarter, is expected to feature MLA headlamps and the HDP (Highway Driving Pilot) 3-level autonomous driving system. This is reinforced by the inclusion of LiDAR and various sensors built into the grill. The price is estimated to be around 3 to 5 million won more expensive than the current G80.

– Genesis GV80 Partial Changes (Photo = Gotcha Instagram)

The partially modified GV80 model from Genesis is attracting the most attention. Based on the current grand exterior, the new design will reflect the one introduced in the G90 and X Concept. The GV80 Coupe, to be introduced with these changes, will be competitive with coupe-type SUVs from existing German premium brands such as the BMW X6 and Porsche Cayenne Coupe. The base model will be released by the end of the year, while the coupe model is expected to come in the first half of next year.

– Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid (Photo = Hyundai Motor Company)

The new Santa Fe has already started selling the 2.5-liter gasoline model. The hybrid model has also been released, but sales and actual delivery to customers are expected to take place in October at the earliest, due to pending eco-friendly car certification.

The Santa Fe Hybrid combines a Smartstream 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine that produces 180 horsepower with a 47.7kW electric motor (approximately 65 horsepower). This combination achieves a maximum system output of 235 horsepower and a maximum torque of 37.4 kg·m. It also offers hybrid-specific features and utilizes e-Motion Drive, a hybrid-specific technology that utilizes electric motors.
