TotalEnergies Toulouse: Station to Transform into Multi-Energy Hub

Toulouse Gas Station Transforms into Multi-Energy Hub, Temporarily Closes for Renovations

The TotalEnergies gas station on the western ring road of Toulouse will undergo a complete transformation, closing its doors this Monday, February 3, 2026, for a full year of construction.

The station, a frequent stop for motorists, particularly at night, will be rebuilt as a multi-energy facility. This follows a similar renovation completed at another TotalEnergies station on the opposite side of the périphérique, near the Purpan exit, which reopened in January 2023, according to reports.

TotalEnergies is investing over 4 million euros in the project, aiming to create a modern and strategically important infrastructure for the Toulouse metropolitan area. Motorists will need to find alternative fueling locations until the station reopens in early 2027.

Four Electric Vehicle Charging Points Planned

The new facility will feature a next-generation building exceeding 200 square meters, with a significant portion of its roof covered in solar panels to promote self-consumption of energy. A new “Bonjour” shop will also be included. Responding to current demand, the station will offer a range of fuels, including E85, a biofuel also known as Superéthanol, and will discontinue GPL. Importantly, it will also be equipped with four high-power electric vehicle charging points, adding to the 1,105 charging points already installed by the energy group across the Occitanie region.

This project aligns with TotalEnergies’ broader strategy to maintain a local service presence while adapting its network to new environmental requirements. “We are seeing continued demand for fuel distribution, which is why we are continuing our investment policy in our stations. But we are also ensuring that our network is adapted to new energies; we also plan to install electric charging points in other stations in the Toulouse metropolitan area, notably at the Toulouse États-Unis station,” explained Sylvain Panas, Regional Director of Occitanie for TotalEnergies, who manages 332 service stations in Occitanie, including 16 in the Toulouse metropolitan area.

Beyond the electric vehicle charging points, the group announced plans to modernize several of its car wash centers in the metropolitan area, including those in Balma, Saint-Alban, and La Roseraie.

TotalEnergies is transforming to become a multi-energy company, operating in oil, gas, biofuels, hydrogen and electricity, with an ambition to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. The company is committed to operating 35GW of low carbon production capacities in 2025, and is expanding its EV charging network worldwide.

The station on the périphérique is now the largest site in Occitanie equipped with electric charging points, following the transformation of the Purpan station, which now boasts 16 ultra-fast charging points, capable of delivering up to 300kW of power. These points can add 100 kilometers of range in six minutes, or approximately 80% charge in twenty minutes.
