The new League Phase Format Explained

The 2025-2026 Champions League will ⁣abandon the ‍traditional group stage in‍ favor⁣ of a ⁣single 36-team league. Each team will play⁤ eight matches – four at home and four away – against opponents chosen using a complex algorithm⁤ designed to ensure variety and balance. This system replaces the previous format of eight groups of⁤ four teams.
