Galaxy Z Flip 6 Exclusive NFL Edition Case Released in the US
Galaxy Z Flip 6 NFL Edition Case
Samsung Electronics has released the Galaxy Z Flip 6 NFL Edition case, a special edition case produced in collaboration with a local company, to coincide with the National Football League (NFL) opening in the United States. The NFL is a highly popular sport in the US, considered one of the four major sports alongside baseball, basketball, and ice hockey.
This strategic move is seen as an attempt to capture the attention of sports fans in the US, a market with a large NFL fan base, and establish Samsung as a leader in premium foldable phones. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 NFL Edition case is the company’s first NFL-themed foldable phone flip suit case, featuring the logos and colors of 12 teams in the league, including the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots.
The Flipsuit case utilizes near-field communication (NFC) technology, allowing users to animate an NFL team image on the cover screen, known as the ’Flex Window,’ when the case is put on. The product is priced at $79.99 and is exclusively available in the US.
The release of the NFL Edition case is part of Samsung’s efforts to strengthen its dominance in the local foldable phone market. By targeting large-scale NFL fans as potential customers, the company aims to capitalize on the growing demand for foldable phones in the US.
The NFL’s popularity in the US is on the rise, with the average viewership for the 58th Super Bowl reaching a record-breaking 123.4 million. This is the highest viewership in Super Bowl history, surpassing the previous year’s record by 8 million.
Phone Arena, an American IT media outlet, praised the NFL-inspired flipsuit case, stating that it allows users to “express their support for their favorite team with a digital feel.” SamMobile, another IT media outlet, analyzed the release of the NFL case as Samsung’s early move to curb Apple’s potential entry into the foldable phone market.
According to SamMobile, ”Samsung is in fierce competition with the iPhone in the US,” and the NFL Flip Suit Case is a strategic move to capture the attention of sports fans, who tend to be big spenders. The global foldable phone market is showing steady growth, with Asia leading the way. In the second quarter of last year, global foldable phone shipments increased by 85% year-on-year, with the Asia Pacific region experiencing the highest growth rate of 106%.
