It’s a sad picture of what happened when around 10 killer whales got stuck in the ice. Can’t swim anywhere in northern Japan. Which is even worse than that. There was no way the officers could help. One could only pray that those ice cubes would move, break apart and float away on their own so that those killer whales could swim out into the ocean on their own.
The incident of 10 killer whales stuck in the ice happened off the coast of Rausu, a city in northeastern Hokkaido. The photo seen is considered very pathetic because the killer whales are struggling. Struggling to survive Breaking through the ice they are stuck in and getting out.
A pod of around 10 killer whales has been found trapped in a small crevice in drift ice off the coast of Rausu, a town in northeastern Hokkaido. According to NHK, “the town can only watch and hope that the drift ice breaks apart, allowing the orcas to escape.” pic.twitter.com/AKLnGvgU2O
