Hunter to Play Both Ways in NFL Training Camp

Updated June 30, 2025

Hunter, who excelled on both sides of‌ the ball in college, ‌will get⁢ the⁤ chance to showcase ‌his versatility in the NFL.⁤ After some initial reluctance, the team has decided to give ⁢Hunter the prospect ⁢to play both offense⁤ and defense.

the decision came after⁢ Hunter⁤ played both ways in practice. The team plans to continue this approach throughout ‍training camp to build his mental and physical endurance. The goal is to ⁤prepare him⁤ for the demands of playing on both sides of the field during games.

The ‍team will ‍assess Hunter’s ⁤performance this spring to determine ‍the best path forward. The focus is on ⁢building a solid foundation on both sides of the football.

Hunter made it⁤ clear during⁢ the pre-draft process that he wanted to play both ways⁤ in the NFL. Last season,he played more snaps than⁤ any othre player nationally, totaling 1,461 as a Heisman honoree at Colorado. He also won⁢ the big 12’s ⁣Defensive player of the Year award.

On offense, Hunter had 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns. Defensively, ⁤he led the Buffaloes ‌with 11 passes defended and four interceptions.

“So ultimately, we’re building a foundation right now of both sides of the football, but he’s going to have to do both in practice⁤ because that’s what the‍ game is going to be like, and we’ll sit down and reevaluate what we did this spring to see what’s the best moving forward,” said the coach.

What’s next

The team will continue to evaluate Hunter’s progress throughout training camp, with the goal of determining how‌ best to utilize his talents on ⁤both offense and defense during the upcoming season.
