US Presidential Election 2024: Trump Claims Victory
At an election watch party in Palm Beach, Donald Trump declared his victory, stating it was “a political victory that our country has never had before.” He claimed the United States gave him an “unprecedented” mandate. However, most news organizations have yet to declare him elected.
According to preliminary results, Trump has secured 267 electoral votes, while his opponent, Kamala Harris, has 224. To win the presidential election, a candidate needs to secure at least 270 electoral votes.
Trump’s victory speech was attended by many of his supporters, including MAGA celebrities and former White House aides. The event was held at the main hall of the convention center.
Meanwhile, Harris hosted an election night party at her campaign headquarters, located at her alma mater, Howard University. Her campaign co-CEO announced that she would not be speaking tonight and would address her supporters tomorrow.

Key swing states, including Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada, and North Carolina, played a crucial role in the election outcome. Trump has won several states, including Kentucky, Indiana, and Florida, while Harris has secured victories in Vermont, Massachusetts, and California.
International leaders have also reacted to the election results. Hungarian Prime Minister Orban posted on Facebook, “A big victory is in sight!” while Germany’s Der Spiegel stated, ”We must prepare for the worst.”
Trump’s aide, Kellyanne Conway, attributed his victory to his policies and charisma, stating, “Trump won on policy and charisma.”
