Turkish Airlines Suspends Use of Boeing 737 MAX 9 for Safety Inspections

Turkey’s national airline “Turkish Airlines” has announced that the use of the Boeing 737 MAX 9 in its fleet of five aircraft for safety inspections will be temporarily suspended.

Shocking event: a Boeing 737 Max 9 plane breaks off in mid-air from Alaska Airlines on January 5, 2024, causing airlines with Boeing 737 Max 9 passenger planes to phase out the use of this model in their fleets . Recently, foreign news agencies said that Turkish Airlines Türkiye’s national airline issued a statement to suspend the use of Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft available in all 5 fleets for thorough safety inspections.

“Until the technical investigation process is completed and the measures requested by the authorities are taken. Turkish Airlines has decided to withdraw the five aircraft from their operations at the airport where they will land for the first time. Flight safety is our top priority,” Turkish Airlines Media Relations said.

The inspection found that the five aircraft were transported between February 2019 and September 2021. So far, Alaska Airlines, United Airlines and Turkish Airlines have temporarily suspended use of their Boeing aircraft as a result of the incident.
