Two Indian players shortlisted for ICC Men’s Player of the Year for January

Dubai: Two Indian players have been shortlisted for the ICC Men’s Player of the Year for January. Batsman Shubman Gill and pacer Mohammad Siraj made the three-man shortlist. New Zealand batsman Devon Conway is the third player on the list.

Gill’s brilliant performances in ODIs and T20Is brought him to the list. Gill scored 70, 21 and 116 runs in the ODI series against Sri Lanka and also scored an ODI double against New Zealand. After that, Gill scored 40* and 112 runs and proved his strength by scoring a century in the T20 series as well. Gill’s unbeaten 126 off 63 balls also made him the highest individual score by an Indian batsman in T20 cricket. He also holds the record of being only the fifth Indian batsman to score a century in all three formats.
