Abu Dhabi – the UAE is making critically important strides in bolstering its intellectual property (IP) landscape, aiming to establish itself as a global center for innovation. A recent dialog session, “The Future of Intellectual Property services and Regulatory Framework,” brought together key stakeholders to discuss the sector’s achievements and future initiatives.
Dr. Abdul Rahman Hassan al-Muini, Assistant Undersecretary of the Intellectual Property Sector at the UAE Ministry of Economy, emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a climate conducive to creativity and innovation. “We are dedicated to providing national talent with the latest technologies and applications in intellectual property,” he stated.
The session highlighted several key accomplishments in 2024. the “One-Day mark” project expedited trademark examinations,while the “Your Mark,Your Identity” initiative simplified trademark registration for small and medium enterprises. The Ministry also launched the first phase of the “automatic Blocking” project, targeting pirated websites that violate IP rights.
