Kron Gracie, son and nephew of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legends Hélio and Royce Gracie, respectively, has been removed from the UFC’s active roster. The move follows a string of defeats for Gracie, who also trains with Nate and Nick Diaz.
The 36-year-old Gracie, known for his BJJ expertise, struggled to replicate that success in MMA. his UFC record stands at 1-3,with his release unsurprising after recent performances.
gracie’s last fight was a TKO loss to Bryce Mitchell at UFC 310 in December 2024. Prior to that,he lost to Cub Swanson in October 2019,although that bout earned Fight of the Night honors. His sole UFC victory came in his debut against Alex Caceres in February 2019.
Despite his family’s legacy and BJJ skills, Gracie fought infrequently and failed to gain traction as a top contender in the UFC featherweight division. His overall MMA record is a modest 5-3.
also released from the UFC roster were Hakeem Dawodu and Connor Matthews.
UFC 316 is scheduled for Sunday, featuring Merab Dvalishvili defending his title against Sean O’Malley in a bantamweight title rematch.
What’s next
While his UFC career is over, Gracie could still compete in BJJ or train other fighters. However, his chances of becoming a top-tier MMA title contender appear slim.
