Unified Quarantine Center for Livestock in Qatar

Doha റിൽ Construction of integrated quarantine centers for livestock near the ports of Hamad and Al Ruwais in Qatar is in progress. Centers are being set up near the two ports with state-of-the-art facilities for health screening of imported and exported livestock.

The project is being spearheaded by the Animal Wealth Department of the Municipal Environment Ministry. The aim is to prevent the spread of diseases through animals imported into the country and to ensure that the animals exported are disease free. The 90,000-square-meter center, to be built near the port of Hamad, will have 20 large barns with a capacity of 40,000 sheep, 4,000 cows and 2,000 camels, three production lines, a slaughterhouse, a kiln, an emergency veterinary clinic, a laboratory and an autopsy room.

The three production lines can accommodate up to 600 sheep per day and 100 camels and cows per day. The center in Al Ruwais will have six large barns for 16,000 sheep and sheep, 1,600 camels and 2,600 cows. It has a semi-automatic slaughterhouse, three production units, a kiln, a veterinary clinic and a laboratory. Construction will be completed in a few months.
