Unleashing Chaos: The Jaw-Dropping, Ultra-Rare Mercedes Re-Design That’s Dividing Car Enthusiasts
Saoutchik’s Modern Interpretation of the Iconic Mercedes-Benz 300 SL
Coachwork is experiencing a resurgence in popularity, and French company Saoutchik has re-emerged with a modern take on the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. Their latest creation, the 300 GTC Roadster, will be produced in limited quantities, with only 15 examples set to be manufactured.
The 300 GTC Roadster is believed to be based on the Mercedes-Benz SL model, boasting a unique exterior design and a completely revamped interior. Although it remains to be seen whether this reinterpretation will live up to the original 300 SL, it is sure to turn heads when the first examples hit the road.
Exterior Design
The front of the car features round headlights and a grille, which, by modern standards, are relatively modest. The intricate Saoutchik logo takes center stage on a large badge in the mesh, accompanied by two large vents with black mesh. The front fenders are particularly prominent, paying homage to the car that inspired it.
The sides of the car showcase several classic Mercedes elements, including large air vents behind the front wheels finished in chrome, as well as massive 22-inch chrome wheels.
The rear of the car has been revamped with new fenders, a unique trunk lid, a distinctive silver diffuser, and subtle LED lights.
Interior Design
Although only one image of the car’s interior has been released, it appears to be a mix of parts from recent Mercedes-Benz models. However, the cabin is clearly distinct from the current SL, suggesting that the 300 GTC Roadster may be based on an older model.
Performance
Details about the car’s engine are scarce, but it is likely that potential buyers will be expecting to find AMG’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine under the hood.
With only a handful of detailed renderings released, it may be some time before we see Saoutchik’s work in person. The price of the 300 GTC Roadster remains unknown.
