Unlocking Renewable Energy: 20 MW KABU16 Hydroelectric Power Plant Set to Transform Cibitoke

President Ndayishimiye Evariste inaugurated the KABU16 Hydroelectric Power Plant, adding 20 MW to Burundi’s energy park.

Bujumbura (Cibitoke), 25/10/2024 – As part of Barundi’s socio-economic policy and in a joyful atmosphere, in attendance Mr. Uwizeye Ibrahim, Burundian Minister of Energy, HE Ndayishimiye Evariste, Major General and President of Burundi, inaugurate KABU16 Hydroelectric Power Plant. Located on Muremera Hill, this plant will bring an additional 20 MW to the country’s electricity network. The Head of State also expressed his gratitude to the Indian company Angelique International Limitedwho carried out the work, emphasizing the importance of good cooperative relations between Burundi and India.
