Upgrade Alert: Should You Ditch Your Old Device in October as Apple Pads and Galaxy Premium Phones Flood the Market
Samsung and Apple to Unveil New Smartphones and Tablets in October
Upcoming Releases from Samsung and Apple
Users planning to upgrade their smart devices may want to consider purchasing them in October, as Samsung Electronics and Apple are expected to unveil several new semi-premium smartphones and tablet PCs.
Samsung Electronics is likely to unveil its first slim foldable phone, the Galaxy S24 FE (Fan Edition), and the next-generation tablet, the Galaxy Tab S10 series. Apple is expected to unveil new products, including the MacBook Pro with the M4 chip and the iPad Mini 7.
Samsung’s Upcoming Releases
According to foreign media outlets, Samsung Electronics is expected to release the ‘Galaxy S24 FE’ and ‘Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim’ next month. The Galaxy Tab S10 series is also likely to be unveiled.
The Galaxy S24 FE is expected to feature a 6.7-inch display, a 4,565mAh battery, and a triple camera with a 50-megapixel camera based on the ISOCELL HP3 image sensor. The price is likely to increase slightly from the launch price of its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 FE.
The ‘Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim’ has an advantage in that it is 10~11mm thick when folded, which is about 1~2mm thinner than the existing ‘Galaxy Z Fold6’. Although it is thinner, the screen is larger than that of the Galaxy Z Fold6, so the weight is expected to not change much from the existing 239g.
Apple’s Upcoming Releases
Apple is expected to unveil a number of tablet PCs with artificial intelligence (AI) functions in the second half of the year.
According to IT media outlet NinetoFiveMac, Apple is expected to announce a slew of new products equipped with the M4 chip, including the MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini, and iPad Mini, in October or November.
The MacBook Pro will be released in three versions: M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max. The Mac mini will be released with a more compact design. However, the Pro’s release date is likely to be later than the M4.
The iPad Mini 7th generation is a new product that has been released three years after its predecessor. It is known to focus more on internal upgrades than design. It features an 8.3-inch display, which is smaller than models such as the iPad Air and Pro.
