VFF suspended 5 Ha Tinh players suspected of using banned substances

The VFF Disciplinary Committee announced the disciplinary suspension of five Ha Tinh players related to the use of banned substances.

On the afternoon of May 8, the VFF Disciplinary Committee announced the decision to temporarily suspend competition (until a replacement decision is made) at national football tournaments managed by VFF with 5 Ha Tinh Club players including: Dinh Thanh Trung, Nguyen Trung Hoc, Duong Quang Tuan, Nguyen Van Truong and Nguyen Ngoc Thang.

These players were criminally detained by the Ha Tinh City Investigation Police Department to investigate suspicions of using banned substances.

In addition to the disciplinary sentence, it is known that VFF and VPF also had a meeting related to the incident. As for Ha Tinh Club, although there has been no official announcement, some sources said that this team has liquidated the contracts with all 5 players.

Among the players currently being criminally detained by the Ha Tinh City Investigation Police Department to investigate suspicions of using banned substances, notably midfielder Dinh Thanh Trung, who won the Vietnam Golden Ball title 2017, won the V-League championship with Quang Nam Club. He was also the captain of the Vietnam team.

In addition, Ngoc Thang just joined U23 Vietnam to attend the 2024 U23 Asian Finals, while Trung Hoc is the captain of Ha Tinh Club, appearing in 16 matches in V-League 2023/24.
