In an interview given to Galata Plus as part of the promotion of his new film Ratnam, Vishal criticized the Red Giants, which are owned by Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Udayanidhi Stal. Vishal said that there was a problem during the release of his film Enemy. That time was Diwali. He has a bit of a problem with someone from the Red Giants production company. Vishal said he doesn’t know if Udayanidhi Stalin knows this.
“No one has the authority to say that a film should be shelved. There is no track record for those who claim that Tamil cinema is in my hands. I am not saying this for myself. I am not my filmmakers are the ones who sit in the AC room and pick up the phone and say that no one else’s film should be screened. People like us have sweated money to make it movie off.
