Diagnosis and Blood Levels

The Institute of Medicine suggests that a level between 20-50 ng/mL of 25-hydroxyvitamin D is sufficient to maintain musculoskeletal health, a view consistent with prevailing standards in Europe.
In the United States, some professional societies argue that a level of at least 30 ng/mL is required for optimal skeletal health.
