“Voluntary migration for the people of Gaza.” Netanyahu acknowledges, “We are working on that.”

While the fierce Israeli war on the Gaza Strip continues, amid the internal displacement of 90% of the Strip’s population, according to United Nations statistics, it appears that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is still working on a plan to displace the Gazans.

During a closed parliamentary session of representatives of the ruling Likud Party, Netanyahu said that he seeks to develop plans to implement the “voluntary migration” of Palestinians from Gaza to other countries, according to what the Israel Hayom newspaper reported yesterday evening, Monday.

The only problem
He also considered that “the only problem obstructing this plan lies in the countries prepared to absorb the refugees,” stressing at the same time that he is “working to solve it.”

In turn, a representative from the Likud Party led by Netanyahu, Danny Danon, said, “The world is already discussing this matter, as Canadian Immigration Minister Mark Miller spoke about these matters publicly, as did Nikki Haley (the potential Republican candidate for the US presidency),” according to the same newspaper.

He added, “We must form a team in Israel to take care of this issue and make sure that anyone who wants to leave Gaza for a third country can do so.”

He also believed that this matter should be organized, because of its strategic importance after the end of the war.”

According to the newspaper, Netanyahu responded to Danon, saying: “We are working on that.”

Last November, Danon proposed the issue of “voluntary migration” for residents of the Gaza Strip.

While most Arab countries, as well as the United States, in addition to European countries, confirmed their rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip abroad.
