Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for increased diplomatic activity to peacefully resolve the conflict in the Middle East, and also condemned the attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip. He wrote about this on his Twitter.

“I condemn those who carried out this attack, which is a crime against humanity and genocide against the people of Gaza… Turkey will continue to make efforts to establish first a humanitarian ceasefire and then permanent stability,” Erdogan said.

In the statement, the Turkish leader noted the need for diplomatic activity to end the conflict.

“From day one, we have made intensive efforts to resolve the crisis that began on October 7 and could spread throughout our region. We have now had telephone conversations with 18 leaders at the level of heads of state and government. In cooperation with the Egyptian authorities, we have flown three aircraft to the region with humanitarian assistance. We continue to extend a helping hand to the oppressed people of Gaza, who have been living under blockade for 17 years,” the head of Turkey noted.

He also added that in the current situation, “the UN Security Council, which has become completely ineffective, has again failed to fulfill its responsibilities” and criticized Western countries for inaction and “adding fuel to the fire” of the conflict, and the international media for disseminating “biased and hypocritical publications.” .

Let us recall that US President Joe Biden, during a visit to Israel on Wednesday, October 18, said that the fatal blow to a hospital in the Gaza Strip did not appear to have been carried out by the Israeli military.
