Warrants of No Return: Court Orders Non-Bailable Arrest of Ali Amin Gund Apur and Top Leaders
Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court Issues Non-Bailable Arrest Warrants for PTI Leaders
Islamabad’s Anti-Terrorism Court has taken a significant step in the ongoing case against Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders, issuing non-bailable arrest warrants for several key figures, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Case Background
The case in question pertains to the attack and vandalism on the judicial complex at I-Nine police station, for which PTI leaders have been implicated.
Pre-Arrest Bail Application
Judge Tahir Abbas Supra heard Ali Amin Gandapur’s pre-arrest bail application, during which his lawyer, Raja Zahoorul Hasan, submitted an application to excuse the presence of Ali Amin Gandapur in court.
Court Ruling
Judge Tahir Abbas Supra pointed out that Ali Amin Gandapur had previously applied for an exemption from attending court on September 4, only to have his health improve by the time of the meeting on September 8.
The court rejected Ali Amin Gandapur’s pre-arrest bail application due to non-compliance.
Non-Bailable Arrest Warrants
As a result, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, Raja Rashid Hafeez, and Amir Mehmood Kayani.
Umar Tanveer Butt was declared a public servant due to his continued absence from court proceedings.
Adjournment of Hearing
The court accepted Faisal Javed’s request for a waiver of attendance and adjourned the hearing of the case until October 3.
