“We are all going home” at the conscription office… Soldiers are shot

In Russia, where the military mobilization order was issued, anti-war protests are taking place across the country.

An incident occurred when a man in his 20s, in protest against the mobilization order, opened fire on a soldier in the conscription office.

A 25-year-old man who lives in the area opened fire in a conscription office around 10am today local time.

It is said that the man, who had been drafted, fired three or more shots after shouting “We’ll all go home” after the conscription general’s speech ended.

The draftsman, who was shot in the chest from a distance of less than a meter, was immediately taken to hospital, but is in a serious condition.

Local media reported that the suspect used a rifle that appeared to be home-made, and it was confirmed that there were no metal detectors at the conscription office.

In the city of Ryazan, south-east of Moscow, a man was arrested today for trying to self-denial in front of a conscription bus against the war.

As protests against conscription and desertions continue, Russian President Putin has signed a bill that would allow soldiers who voluntarily surrender or refuse to fight to be detained for up to 10 years.
