Actress Grace Antony shares her experience of taking part in a mock audition. Grace said that up to Rs 500 is taken as fee from children who appear in mock auditions, but no one gets a call. Grace shared her mock audition experience in an interview with Dhanya Varma.

“In some auditions, the fee will be Rs 300 to Rs 500. At least 60 kids will be there no matter how it goes. We will perform best there but a call won’t even come from there. It was later realized that it was a fake audition. Now when I talk to my fellow Members, they tell me they went to 300 auditions. How many rupees they must have spent from their hands.

How can a child from an unknown background know if it is a fake audition? Or google the director’s name. There are many children who are actually clever. But there are children who are not like that. They all go to that fake audition and come back after losing money. The best actors are actually the ones who do mock auditions like this. You have to watch them in action.

I was asked to do something in an audition. People say this is the real audition. That’s how it was done in the audition of Happy Wedding. Paksha said to do something here. I acted out a scene from the play The Threesome’s Daughter which I had played before.

She said stop what drama is this, what over acting. I said I wasn’t told what to do. This is how it’s done, what is this, it’s over terribly, said Pokolaan. I came down with tears in my eyes. Dad asked what happened. Papa said he can’t have it. I’ve gone to mock auditions like that,’ says Grace.

Amazingly, the anchor said that Grace reached Mammootty’s heroine from there.
