Wheelchair tennis Shingo Kunieda retired interview “I had the best tennis life” | NHK

The press conference was attended by Tadashi Yanai, Chairman and President of Quick Retail, which owns Uniqlo.
Greetings from the Chairman and President Tadashi Yanai.

First of all, please smile so you don’t cry, congratulations on your retirement.

It makes me a little sad, but I’ve done everything a professional athlete should do.

Besides, it’s lovely to announce retirement at this fine time, isn’t it?

Today is an auspicious day in the sense of the birth of a new Shingo Kunieda.

In April 2009, I became the first Japanese wheelchair player to turn professional.

But it has become a great professional sport.

An outstanding global ambassador, I think I am the best global ambassador in the world.

He has a wonderful personality and lifestyle, he has won all kinds of titles, received warm support from people all over the world, and has a good personality.

This is because top players generally have a good head.

Kunieda is by far the best among them.

Thanks to Kunieda Roger Federer became our global ambassador.

One of Kunieda’s strengths is that he is completely obsessed with winning.

I will definitely do it.

Rather than recklessness, cheerfulness, body or spirit, I can truly respect him as a human being who puts his life into it.

Life begins now.

I want to continue to support him as much as possible, so so far, I’ve been on the run.

Forget everything about the past.

I don’t need it anymore, the past.

The real thing is from now on, today is the beginning.

Let’s work together to change Japan and Japan in the world for the better.

Unfortunately, Japan is now in a state of impasse.

I have no money anymore.

Only the debt is huge.

Still, they hand out money bang bang.

The infrastructure may become obsolete and unusable.

Among them, if young people have real hopes for the future, I have high hopes for Kunieda-kun as a role model.

I wish you the best.
