“Why do young people abandon their plantations in Cameroon to go work on plantations in Canada? »

Cameroonian businessman, Dieudonné Bougne, expressed his incomprehension at the massive exodus of young Cameroonians to Canada. In a statement, the CEO of the Bocom group pointed out the fact that many young people are abandoning their own plantations in Cameroon to seek work on Canadian plantations.

In recent months, there has been a sharp increase in the number of Cameroonians leaving for Canada, whether they are teachers, nurses, engineers or young people without particular qualifications. The “Canadian dream” seems to be attracting more and more young Cameroonians who aspire to find their fortune in this vast North American country, which has become a popular destination.

Just yesterday, a huge crowd gathered in Buea to take the Canadian TCF French knowledge test, leading to stampedes and injuries. This rush towards Canada shows that many young Cameroonians are seeking to flee their country to settle in Justin Trudeau’s country.

For Dieudonné Bougne, successful CEO of Bocom, this situation is incomprehensible. Why do these young Cameroonians prefer to go and work on plantations in Canada, when they could do the same job in their country of origin? This trend prompted Dieudonné Bougne to publicly ask himself the question: “I don’t understand. Why are young people abandoning their plantations in Cameroon to join Canadian plantations, leaving behind agricultural and economic opportunities on their own land?”
