Google is currently testing a new search application for Windows, made available on personal accounts through Google’s search Labs,as announced in a blog post on Tuesday,September 10,2024. The app introduces an Alt + Space shortcut, enabling users to search for information across their computer files, Google drive, and the web.
Features and Functionality
The application features a Chrome-like installation process and requires users to sign in. It also integrates google Lens,the company’s visual search tool,allowing users to search for images on their screen and translate text. Google demonstrated an example where users can highlight a math problem and utilize the AI Mode to find solutions.
Similar to google’s web search engine, the app allows users to toggle between different views, including all results, AI Mode, Images, and Videos.
Comparison to macOS Spotlight
