Nigerian fans storm the stadium after Qatar failed to qualify for the World Cup. Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw in the second quarter of the World Cup qualifier against Ghana. Ghana won the toss and elected to field. The fans then stormed the stadium.

The match was played at the Abuja National Stadium in Nigeria. Police fired tear gas to disperse the fans. There are reports that Nigerian fans have come out to attack the players and fans of the Ghana team.

Midfielder Thomas Party scored for Ghana in the 10th minute. In the 22nd minute, Nigerian defender William Trust equalized. But Nigeria were unable to overcome the Ghanaian defense and score the winning goal. With this, their World Cup dream came to an end.

Shortly after the final whistle was blown, Nigerian fans descended on the ground. The Ghanaian players had to stay in their dressing room until the fans’ protest subsided.
