Gunfight in Sao Paulo

Last Monday (18th) around 6:30 pm, a street in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

A man in white slowly approaches the security guard saying that there is a suspicious movement in the Korean restaurant.

Two men standing on the side of the restaurant threatened the man in white and tried to drag him towards the restaurant.

The white-clad man raised his hands and seemed obedient, then suddenly pulled a pistol from his waist and fired at the two men.

One is shot down and the other man hides behind a vehicle and runs away.

A gang of four robbers targeting a Korean restaurant

On this day, four men came into the Korean restaurant.

Another Korean man who noticed an attempt to kidnap the restaurant owner’s family subdued the robbers with a gun.

One of the two robbers was killed in a gunfight and the other was seriously injured.

The other robber entered the restaurant and took the staff and guests hostage.

After negotiating with the police for an hour and a half, all the hostages, including the child, were released and surrendered.

A crime targeting Koreans?

Police said the men tried to extort money by threatening the restaurant owner after learning that the restaurant owner had money in the house.

The fact that Korean restaurant owners knew where their money was in advance raises suspicions that the information was provided by hired security guards or housekeepers.
