WorldPride, one of the largest LGBTQI+ rallies, recently took place in Washington, D.C., featuring a series of events that culminated in a vibrant party of diversity and inclusion. The event drew participants from around the globe, highlighting the ongoing struggles and triumphs of the LGBTQI+ community.
The parade kicked off with a 300-meter-long rainbow banner carried by approximately 500 members of Washington’s gay choir. The massive display of solidarity set the tone for the three-week event, which aimed to raise awareness and advocate for LGBTQI+ rights.
Washington was selected to host WorldPride in 2022. Since then, advocates have voiced concerns about the political climate and its impact on diversity and inclusion policies.These concerns underscore the importance of continued advocacy and visibility for the LGBTQI+ community.
