Updated june 09, 2025

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) highlighted the latest software innovations, including macOS Tahoe and visionOS, alongside updates to Apple TV+. The keynote ‌presentation, tho, notably omitted critically important discussion of Siri.

The new macOS Tahoe incorporates a “Liquid Glass” aesthetic, featuring a ⁢completely free-floating menu bar. Enhancements include Live Activities, a menu-bar shortcut that syncs with ⁤desktop or phone ‌apps,‌ providing alerts for meetings and tracking⁢ deliveries. Spotlight, Apple’s search feature, now ⁤offers more contextual awareness, ⁢enabling users to find content and interact with program features or websites.

For visionOS, Apple is introducing spatial widgets, which are virtual objects like photos ⁤and calendars that users can place in their real-world surroundings. These widgets remain in place⁤ even as the user moves around the room. Apple is also adding features to sync views with other users to share VR experiences, requiring both users to wear an Apple Vision Pro⁤ headset.

Apple TV+ is set to receive ‍new content, including a Formula 1 movie and series such as Murderbot. A movie starring Matthew McConaughey and America Ferrera about the 2018 Paradise Fire, and a new show starring Jason Momoa, are also in the works.

What’s next

the updates to macOS, visionOS, and Apple TV+ signal Apple’s continued focus on enhancing user experience across its ecosystem. The limited attention given ⁢to Siri, however, raises⁢ questions about its future role in Apple’s‌ product strategy.
