Thiruvananthapuram: Two deaths in Kallambalam. Public Works Department employee Ajikumar was found dead on Monday morning and his friend Ajith was found dead this morning. Defendant Sajeesh admitted that Ajith was killed in a road accident. Police have expanded their investigation into the murder of a public works officer.
The head clerk of Alappuzha PWD, Kallambalam, was found dead at his home in Kallambalam, Mullaramkode, Kavuvila, Leela Cottage, Ajikumar on Monday morning. The injuries to the body and the blood stashed inside the room had raised suspicions of murder. The investigation focused on Ajikumar, who was living alone after a quarrel with his wife, after neighbors told him that he had been drinking with friends on Sunday.
Meanwhile, one of Ajith Kumar’s friends Ajith died in a car accident on Tuesday. Ajith’s friend Sajeesh hit the body of Ajith who was walking on the road. After that, Sajeesh Kallambalam surrendered to the police. Ajith and Sajeesh are friends of Ajikumar. Therefore, the police concluded that there was a connection between the two deaths.
Police suspect that Ajikumar may have been killed while they were drinking together and that the dispute over it may have led to the next day’s car crash. But it is not clear who killed Ajikumar and why. The Varkala DySP-led team is detaining and questioning several members of the circle of friends of the two slain men.
