[사건·사고24시] ‘Illegal propofol administration’ Ha Jung-woo’s first trial and drunk driving test found methamphetamine

Actor Ha Jung-woo of ‘Propofol Illegal Use’, First Trial Today

The first trial of actor Ha Jung-woo (43, real name Kim Seong-hoon), who is being tried for illegal use of propofol, will be held on the 10th.

Judge Seol-ah Park, who is the 24th independent criminal judge of the Seoul Central District Court, will hold the first trial of Mr. Ha, who is charged with violating the Narcotics Control Act this morning. As it is a formal trial, the defendant Ha is expected to appear in court.

Ha appointed 10 lawyers from four law firms: Yulchon, Pacific, Barun, and Gayul. Some of them were former chief prosecutors or chief judges, and it is known that there are people who were in charge of drugs at the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office when they were prosecutors.

From January to September 2019, Mr. Ha was prosecuted for illegally administering the psychotropic drug propofol with a fine of 10 million won, but was handed over to a formal trial according to the court’s decision.

A summary indictment is a process in which the prosecution requests the court to issue a summary order in a written hearing instead of a formal trial on relatively light charges. The court may hold a formal trial if it determines that the summary order is not appropriate.

In the statement, Ha explained, “I have received dermatology treatment for acne scars, and if there is pain such as laser treatment, I have been treated under sedation.”
