On the weekend on the 30th, an error occurred in the ticketing system at the Express Bus Terminal in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul for over an hour, causing inconvenience to passengers and extreme congestion.

Fortunately, the system was restored and operated normally from this afternoon.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Seoul Express Bus Terminal, an error occurred in the T-money computer network from 11:15 a.m. on the same day, and ticketing was not performed properly. T-money operates an express bus ticketing system.

As the terminal’s unmanned ticket machine and reservation app could not be used due to a computer error, the terminal dispatched all office staff to open six reservation windows and guide users.

The terminal gave an announcement once a minute and encouraged passengers to pay cash to board, but the site was crowded with passengers on weekend mornings.

Passengers had to pay cash in front of the bus to get on board and sit as many as they could on empty seats.

The error lasted more than an hour and was only restored around 12:30 p.m. Afterwards, the terminal operation returned to normal, with the terminal’s unmanned ticket machine operating normally, reducing the waiting line at the reservation window.

A T-money official explained, “The cause of the error and the exact time are being identified.” “T-money is providing a ticketing system to bus terminals, and we are also checking which terminal and which routes use the T-money system.”

The terminal plans to discuss compensation for ticketing fees with T-money in the future.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is also investigating the matter.
