The 2nd Anti-Corruption Investigation Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Young-cheol) announced that it is conducting a search and seizure by sending prosecutors and investigators to the headquarters of Korea Complex Logistics in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province this afternoon. Established in 1992, Korea Complex Logistics, which operates complex logistics terminals, is a wholly owned subsidiary of CJ Logistics.

Prosecutors discovered that Lee, who was arrested and charged with receiving 1 billion won from a businessman under the guise of mediation, worked as a full-time adviser for one year from 2020 to Korea Complex Logistics.

Former vice president Lee served as a full-time adviser on the recommendation of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport after failing in the 21st general election. Full time advisors are said to earn around 100 million won a year. It is known that the prosecution is investigating the hiring of Lee’s former vice president, a former broadcast writer, as an adviser even though he has no expertise in logistics. In particular, they are said to be investigating the allegations that there was help from political circles, including former chief of staff Noh Young-min, in the search for former vice president Lee’s job.
