The arrest period for Kim Yong, vice president of the Democratic Party of Korea’s Democratic Research Institute, who is accused of receiving ‘illegal presidential funds’, has been extended.

According to the legal community on the 28th, the detention period for Vice President Kim was extended to the 7th of next month. Deputy Director Kim was arrested on the 19th. Subsequently, an arrest warrant was issued on the 22nd in case of destruction of evidence. The first imprisonment was to be on the 28th, but it was extended the day before (27th). According to the Criminal Procedure Act, the prosecution can extend the detention period once, not exceeding 10 days, with the permission of the court.
