[국제]3 babies born in an earthquake shelter in West Java, Indonesia

An earthquake that hit West Java, Indonesia, killed around 300 people and left 60,000 homeless. Three children were born in earthquake shelters.

Reuters reported that Katini, who was leaving the collapsed house, gave birth to a boy on the 23rd, two days after the earthquake.

The obstetrician said, “There was a shortage of medicines and maternity supplies and it took a long time to get to the hospital, but I managed to give birth after a lot of hard work.”

Dewi, who was in the shelter tent for a full season, went straight to the local health center when labor began, and gave birth to a healthy girl on the 22nd with the help of midwives.

After his parents asked him to name the child, the governor of West Java named him Geumpita, the word meaning earthquake.

Another child was born in the shelter.

The local media said that the birth of children is a great gift and that it brings hope to the victims.
