[사회]檢, Kwak Sang-do’s son’s 5 billion severance pay ‘freeze’ … Kim Man-bae and Nam-wook warrants soon concluded

[앵커]

Prosecutors investigating the allegation of preferential treatment for the development of Daejang-dong have taken compulsory measures to prevent the use of Kwak Sang-do’s son’s Hwacheon Daeyu retirement money 5 billion won arbitrarily.

Summons of major suspects, including Kim Man-bae and lawyer Nam Wook, have also been continued, and it seems that the arrest warrant for Kim will be requested again soon.

Prosecutors summoned Kim Man-bae, the major shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu, and Nam-wook, lawyer at the same time to investigate.

Prior to re-applying for an arrest warrant for Kim, the charges were reinforced by matching the statements of those involved.

Previously, the prosecution lost face as the warrant was dismissed because it could not prove in detail that Kim caused at least 100 billion won in damage to Seongnam City and bribed Dong-gyu Yoo, the former general manager, of 500 million won.

Because of this, it is known that Kim and others are concentrating on proving the allegation that they promised 70 billion won in bribes to Yoo, before reclaiming the warrant.

As stated in the indictment, the prosecution’s judgment is that it is a substantive crime, such as discussing the payment method in detail.

Prosecutors are also expected to apply Kwak Sang-do’s son’s 5 billion won severance pay to Kim’s bribery allegations.

In particular, it was found that the court accepted the recent prosecution’s request for compensation for additional collection before prosecution against Rep. Kwak’s father and son.

He said that the 5 billion won received in the name of severance pay, etc., could be regarded as a bribe, and the government decided to freeze it until the conviction was confirmed.

The target is the sum of money that will be deposited in the future as well as the 10 bank accounts in the name of Assemblyman Kwak’s son.

Prosecutors suspected that 5 billion won had flowed into Kwak’s side in the name of severance pay in return for the convenience of excavating cultural assets necessary for the Daejang-dong project, and previously seized and searched Kwak’s son’s home and the Cultural Heritage Administration.

As the son of Rep. Kwak has already appeared in the prosecution once, and the additional punishment has been preserved, there are speculations that the summons of Kwak is imminent.

While the prosecution is summoning key officials every day and entering into last-minute charges against Kim, it seems that an arrest warrant for Nam, who was designated as an accomplice in the ’70 billion contract’, will also be requested soon.
