[사회][단독] Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency direct investigation into claims of ‘corona special’ by travel agencies

[앵커]

The suspicions that companies led by the head of the travel industry swept over 100 billion won in contracts during the Corona 19 period and stole labor costs and quarantine items were reported in successive reports earlier.

As a result of YTN’s comment, it has been confirmed that the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency is directly investigating the special suspicions of the corona virus by these travel agencies.

Meanwhile, attention was drawn to the fact that the investigation by the frontline police station had been slow.

Attention has been drawn to the fact that the investigation has been slightly delayed, but can it be started in earnest?

Until now, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul only investigated the complaints filed by the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office.

It is suspected that a company led by the president of a travel group overcharged 13 million won in labor costs when operating the Yeongdeungpo-gu Life Treatment Center on consignment between January and May.

However, it was confirmed last week that the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s violent crime investigation team has taken over the investigation.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency is expected to investigate all the allegations revealed by the YTN report as well as the previous accusations.

Three main claims have been raised above.

Two companies, led by the president of a travel group, have won more than 120 billion won in contracts to operate life treatment centers during the COVID-19 period of 2020.

More than 90% of the contracts were private contracts, and the first contract was made by ‘self-recommendation’ as the president of a travel group.

There is also the suspicion of raising labor costs too much when operating quarantine facilities.

There was also a case where the Yeongdeungpo-gu office paid 8.3 million won per head for labor costs, but only 3.5 million won was paid to the workers.

We also saw a situation where quarantine supplies supported by the national treasury were stolen without permission in a separate incident with which the company signed a contract.

As the investigation expands to the extent of local government, it is expected that the investigation into suspicions of such questionable veterinary contracts, labor costs and misuse of quarantine products will be accelerated.

So far, it has been introduced in the first part of society.
