[사회]A double investigation that spreads to the side rather than the top… The Prosecution Service

[앵커]

The prosecution’s investigation into the double drops, which is trying to find a link to the suspected payment of attorney’s fees by Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myeong, has been spreading sideways rather than the peak for three months.

Suspicion of bribery by former vice-governor Lee Hwa-young, and suspected payment to North Korea are spreading from internal corruption at Ssangbangbang, but the prosecution continues to struggle to discover the connection to the CEO Lee Jae-myung.

It was last August that the prosecution began seriously investigating the allegations of corruption in Ssangbangwool itself and the suspected payment of lawyer Lee Jae-myung, head of the Democratic Party.

As prosecutors from the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office were sent to form an integrated investigation team, the prosecution focused its investigative power on identifying the link between the two cases.

A month later, Lee Hwa-young, a former peace vice governor in Gyeonggi-do, who was close to Lee, was also arrested on charges of accepting a 100 million bribe won by Ssangbang-wool.

However, during the investigation, only circumstances that were limited to former deputy governor Lee and Ssangbangwool continued to be added, and in the end, the case was transferred to a trial without doubt regarding Lee in the indictment.

At the moment, the prosecution is focusing its investigation on the ‘suspected transfer to North Korea’ which was also found in this case.

In addition to Ssangbang-ul’s suspected foreign currency smuggling, the ‘Asia-Pacific Peace Exchange Association’, a private North Korean exchange organization that Lee and Ssangbang-ul contacted to use as a point of contact with North Korea, is also being was suspected of illegally sending 500,000 dollars to high-ranking North Korean officials in exchange for business. .

Prosecutors who arrested Ahn Busu, chairman of the Asia-Pacific Association, are investigating whether the subsidyprovide the Asia-Pacific Association with the Asia-Pacific Association in the name of a North Korean business was also used for payments to North Korea when Lee Jae-myeong was governor.

However, no evidence was found that Gyeonggi-do actively participated in the suspected payment to North Korea by the Asia-Pacific Council, so the investigation remains on the level of Ahn’s personal corruption.

While the double drop investigation grows into other additional doubts rather than the top line, the political battle is intensifying.

What the prosecution is currently pressing to investigate the suspicion that Lee is paying attorney fees is to secure a new recruit for former chairman Kim Seong-tae of Ssangbangwool.

The prosecution’s concerns deepen as former chairman Kim is unlikely to return to Korea and co-operate with the investigation.
